When you receive the ballot, please mark with a No. 2 pencil, place the ballot in the enclosed envelope and complete ALL of the information requested for the oath on the back of the envelope. Your signature must be witnessed by someone who is 18 years old or older. Then immediately return the ballot (and assistance form, if needed) in the larger envelope provided. We must receive the ballot in our office by no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, but we do ask that you not wait that long. Since only the voter can hand deliver the ballot, you must return it by mail, UPS or FEDEX. Yes, in Virginia all ballots received by 7:00 on Election Day are counted.
